Nag, Nag, Nag

So it seems that my brothers have inherited this special skill from my mother. They forget that the whole world doesn't have a cushy job which includes sitting in front of the computer all day. ;)
So what is it like to be a hairdresser? It kinda sucks, actually. You have to be on your feet all day with your hands in wet hair and have to do all the sucky customer service and sales things that you'd have to do working in Macys. The worst part of all is having to make small talk with 10-15 people every single day, it's horribly draining. Teaching is certainly better, you get to do the fun parts without the dried up hands, sore back and feet. Turns out I'm pretty freakin good at teaching, too..
You'd think that being around 200 cute 18 year olds would be a good thing, but have you been around an 18 year old lately? I swear they're like 12. And our school doesn't have federal funding yet, so a lot of the girls who are there have parents who can afford to just drop $27K on a year of school. Doesn't matter how cute a spoiled 18 year old is..

Yes, I have experienced the joy of spoiled 18-year olds, and I don't envy you much. Maybe a little, but not much. Thanks for posting! (finally)

Did you just catch onto the fact that Dr. X inherited the nag gene??? I'm currently experiencing spoiled 20 year olds. Jut got told by one student that an entire cohort colluded to cheat on the first midterm I ever administered. Now I've got to work on a way to make them pay.... Any thoughts on how to rig a final so that when the students in the Tuesday class tell the Thursday class about the test, it will cause people to fail????

I guess the obvious thing to do would be to have different questions for each class. Or, you could just tell your classes that they will have different questions from other classes, but still have the same test. They'll never figure it out.

Telling them the "different test" idea will not work. I find they don't change their study habits unless they get burned first....or about 30mins before the final. Kind of funny that spoiled 20-year olds act like those spoiled 18-year olds who, in turn act like 12-year olds. I think it's Powder's fault.

Yeah, I've found out about so many ways to cheat since I've been teaching. Turns out you put a bunch of really creative people together who are not great at taking tests and they come up with some ingenious schemes.

Have you had the picturemailing of tests/solutions yet? That's always a good one.
